We have a battery powered hydraulic turnover crush available for foot trimming. This is generally well tolerated by cattle and bulls, and facilitates easier, more detailed treatment of hooves. It is especially useful where more than one hoof is affected or for more than one or two animals – as it does require a little setting up.
It comes with four hurdles and a back gate. Generally this is added as a run-on from the main cattle crush or race but other systems can be facilitated.
Our vets also have angle grinders with speciality, vented, hoof plates to quicken the process and thus improve welfare. Hoof trimming can also be done in on farm standard crushes, providing there is room for safe access.
