In the event of an equine emergency during our normal opening hours please call Fairmoor Equine Clinic, Morpeth on 01670 897597 and you will be advised what to do next.
Out of hours emergency
If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, you can continue to call the normal telephone number 01670 897597 which will divert you to our out of hours call handling service. The answering service will ask for your name, address, the yard address where the horses is including a postcode, your phone number and details of the horse including name and what the problem is. These will be passed on to our on-duty vet who will call you back and visit as necessary.
An equine vet and nurse will be available for emergency calls 24-hours a day, and an out of hours visit charge will only be applicable after 12.30pm on Saturday. Telephone calls on Saturdays will be answered by our reception staff at Fairmoor Small Animal Clinic and passed directly to the equine vet on duty. Your call will be automatically diverted.
All out of hours service is staffed by our usual team of vets that work hard to provide an on-call service 24-hours of the day which normally means you can see a familiar face out of hours.
If your horse requires hospitalisation for a problem out of hours it may be admitted to our clinic at Fairmoor. Our clinic has a member of our animal care assistant or nursing team on site 24/7 when we have inpatients and our vets will attend your horse as is needed.
Please note:
- An out-of-hours consultation fee payable at the time of consultation will be charged. Please ask when you call for the current fee.
