Zone visits mean that on a regular day each week, you will be able to book a visit within that zone for a significantly reduced visit charge. So with a bit of forward planning, you can save money on routine equine veterinary work such as vaccinations, microchipping, routine dentals and short examinations.

The £10 zone visits are available to all clients, as they are not part of the Horse Health Programme.

The scheme has allowed us to work more efficiently, reduce our carbon footprint, and dramatically reduce the cost of routine preventative health care for your horse.

Find out here which zone you are in or contact our equine clinic now on 01670 897597.

Zone visits are for routine work only, such as vaccinations, dentals, microchipping and initial examinations. More prolonged work, such as lameness investigations, castrations, complex dentals, vettings, are not suitable for zone visits and should be booked in the usual way. To ensure case continuity, re-examinations are not normally included in the zone visits.

Booking your £10 zone visits

Zone visits must be pre-booked by midday the day before the visit at the latest. Monday zone visits must be booked by Friday 12pm. To book, please call the clinic on 01670 897597 during reception hours Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

Zone appointment slots will be filled on a first come first served basis. We will co-ordinate the visits geographically and allocate a time slot. We cannot give you a specific time, but we will try to accommodate your requirements.

Once we have coordinated the visits, you can phone us between 3pm and 5pm the day before (or Friday for Monday zone visits) to get an approximate timeslot.

In order to help the day run smoothly, please ensure you or a representative is available at the given time slot. If we visit your premises, and you or your representative do not attend the arranged visit, an abandoned visit charge will be incurred.

Your horse and pony should be caught or stabled ready for the vet, and additionally please have the equine passport at hand.

How to pay for work

Payment for the work to be carried out on your visit is required at the time of your zone visit or you can pay at the time of booking. Payment can be made by cash, cheque and credit or debit card. You can also arrange to pay by bank transfer.

Please note that clients with outstanding accounts are not eligible for the zone scheme. Should you require any further information on our payment terms and conditions, please contact us.

General visits

Visits which are not pre-booked and requests for specific vets are available as usual with our normal visit charge.

The visit charges for our comprehensive 24-hour emergency service are not affected by these changes.
